I’ve been a triathlete since 2011. I’ve completed Sprint, Olympic, Half-Ironman, and Ironman distance races.
I’ve been coaching athletes since 2023. From first time sprint triathletes, to first time Ironman racers, to runners looking for a personal best – I’ve helped athletes just like you get to the start line and across the finish line achieving their goals. Your passion fuels you. I can help you make it happen.
I’m a club coach with the Ottawa Triathlon Club and with Ottawa Swimming. I am a Triathlon Canada Licensed Coach.
I know what it takes to achieve your goals. To fuel your fire. I’ve coached athletes just like you. There’s nothing I love more than watching someone achieve what they didn’t know they could do.

My Coaching Approach
What would it be like to work with me?
We all start from different places and have different goals. We have different work and family circumstances, different availabilities, and different health backgrounds. Your plan needs to be specific to you, your background, your goals, and your circumstances.
And sometimes life throws you a curveball. Sometimes plans need to change. Your plan at the start might look nothing like your plan at the finish. That’s where having a coach is so valuable. I’ll help you through whatever adjustments we need to make, for whatever reason. It’s very common to adjust your plan as we go.
Step One: Personalized Assessment
We’ll start with detailed discussions about your starting point, goals, and the unique circumstances that impact your training
Step Two: Customized Training Plan
I’ll build a plan for you, and based on that plan I’ll deliver detailed workouts to you using TrainingPeaks
Step Three: Ongoing Support & Feedback
I’ll monitor your workout data in TrainingPeaks on a weekly basis. I’ll proactively reach out to you to get your feedback on the workouts. This will help me watch for any changes necessary

I can’t say enough great things about my experience working with Red Fire training! Coach Dave took the time to listen to my goals and work with me on a training plan that helped push my running performance to the next level and worked with my busy schedule. He was very responsive and helped make adjustments on the fly as needed. As a seasoned runner this was my first time working with a coach for my run training, and will not be the last! It took a lot of thinking out of the whole process and synched seamlessly with my tech so that workouts were a no brainer.


Deciding to work with Dave for my race was the best decision I could have made
I tried a generic 5k running plan earlier in the year and ended up with an injury that took months to recover from. Wanting a better outcome for my next race I signed up with Dave and have never looked back. He listened to what I wanted and worked with me to come up with a training schedule that fit my calendar and my rehabilitation. I was so happy with the results of my second race that I signed up to try my first half marathon in 2026 and you had better believe I will keep working with Dave because I know he will help keep me focused, disciplined and that with his help I will find success!
